Map of District

We are working on a map showing the District Boundaries and some of the important current and former LGBTQ and Leather businesses in and around it.  You can view and interact with it below, or on Google Maps here.  Historic sites are based on the published work of Gayle Rubin, to whom we are very grateful.  Errors are our own, however, and may be reported to

Victory Party Planned!

The district-wide party to celebrate our victory and the creation of the Leather Cultural District will happen on Tuesday evening, June 12, 2018.

  • The festivities will begin with a “meet and greet” at Mr. S. Leather at 6:00 pm.  Expect some nice nibbles!
  • At 7:00 pm we gather at The Stud for formal welcomes and a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.
  • From 8:00 to 9:00 pm, celebrants will disperse to all their favorite Leathertown venues, including the Lone Star Saloon, Powerhouse Bar, the Hole in the Wall Saloon, the Oasis, and several others. Some folks may try to “crawl’ to all locations, but each venue will be offering us their own style of welcome and refreshment, so hit as many as you can, and then
  • At 9:00 pm, we all reconvene at the SF Eagle for a Champagne Toast, cake-cutting, and further festivities.

Wear your leather or gear if you can.

Please check out the Facebook Event here.  Let us know you plan to attend.  Share it in your timeline or Group page; invite your FB Friends, talk about it with your RL Friends, etc….

Volunteers will be needed, both to help with preparations and on the evening.  Please contact Steve if you want to help, or have any questions.  Donations to help defray party costs can be made c/o the San Francisco Bay Area Leather Alliance.

Note that we have two versions of our event poster, shown below.  Feel free to share whichever and wherever you like!
